Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Erika Pied is CHI’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). She has over 15 years of experience as a Nutritionist in settings including clinical dietetics and nutrition counseling, community nutrition, family-focused nutrition and child feeding. She is passionate about the power of food.
Ms. Pied’s clinical practice originates in compassion and mindfulness. She meets patients where they are in their relationship with food and their understanding of its impact, and provides them with evidence-based recommendations and guidance for meeting their goals. Ms. Pied focuses on education and encourages her clients to seek credible and reliable sources of information or bring their nutrition questions to her.
Ms. Pied thrives as part of an integrated team working one-on-one with clients and their family members as well as with groups. In addition to having a strong understanding of western medicine, Ms. Pied has lived and worked in Armenia, Kenya and Thailand where she was exposed to different approaches to maintaining and achieving health and wellbeing.
Ms. Pied was drawn to the powerful influence of food and nutrition at an early age through athletics and playing division II soccer at the collegiate level. She has held positions as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC), as a Dietitian/Nutritionist for several of the region’s hospitals, and in private practice. Ms. Pied also served with the United States Peace Corps for two years in Armenia, as a Community Health Volunteer.
