Dr. Katherine Wright Desai, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in health and energy medicine. She uses behavioral, meditative, relaxation and acupressure techniques to help shift life. She teaches individuals and groups to access relaxation and create positive moods to make conscious changes in their lives. Dr. Wright Desai teaches groups how to live fulfilling and nourishing lives, create personal happiness and better sleep, as well as advanced relaxation techniques.
Formerly, Dr. Wright Desai was Director of MindBody Research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, where she conducted research on acupuncture and arthritis of the knee and designed research protocols for qigong and mindfulness behavior change programs for fibromyalgia. She enjoyed fellowships in Chronic Illness and Pain Management at George Washington University and Duke University Medical Center, and interned at the Durham, VA Medical Center. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Georgia. Dr. Wright Desai is certified as a Jin Shin High Touch Acupressure practitioner and trained in Oriental Philosophy of Healing and in EFT, TAT, and BSFF energy psychology techniques.
Dr. Wright Desai specializes in health related life change, stress management and conscious living and she has found that using acupressure and guided meditation greatly assists with creating true and lasting change for people in the long run.
