Laurie Williams, CHI’s clinical health coach, is a healthy lifestyle and integrative health expert, who brings her proven leadership skills and a wide-ranging health education background.
Ms. Williams is considered a critical member of the clinical and health education teams. She works with individuals and groups, meeting them where they are without judgement, and compassionately offers support, inspiration, and the tools needed to make lasting behavioral changes. Her coaching approach is whole-person, taking into account physical and emotional aspects of health and behavior, and tailored to the needs of the individual or group.
With an extensive understanding of all areas of health and integrative health, and deep knowledge in nutrition, movement, and mindfulness, Ms. Williams is able to work with patients and clients who have a wide variety of health challenges, including chronic health conditions. She can also help individuals and groups to achieve specific goals through proven techniques to uncover and conquer resistance, discover intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and create lasting behavior change.
Previously, she was the founder and director of Thrive, an exercise and wellness studio where she offered customized exercise, diet and nutrition, and stress management programs. Ms. Williams has also consulted with a number of regional medical practices specializing in integrative health care including American Whole Health, Point Performance, and Wisneski Health Services and Body Business, Inc. She has served as the chief of staff to the Director of Health at the United Mine Workers of America Health and Retirement Funds.
Ms. Williams’ professional trajectory has been greatly influenced by her early life as a professional dancer and a life-long love of the arts. She has been studying Iyengar yoga for more than 10 years and has taught yoga for more than eight years.
