Family Nurse Practitioner
MaryLynn Gonsalves, CRNP, is a board certified family nurse practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center and member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing. MaryLynn is passionate about developing a trusting relationship with her patients and engaging them in conversations that will lead to balanced, healthy lifestyles.
With an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and minor in Nutrition from Virginia Tech, and a Masters in Public Health from Boston University, MaryLynn gained extensive experience in international development and public health while working and living in the South Pacific and South East Asia.
Since earning her Bachelors and Masters in Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University, MaryLynn has practiced in primary care clinics throughout the United States that have focused on populations from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. She has specialized in working with the homeless and those who have barriers to engaging with the health care system. She was awarded The Johns Hopkins Nurses’ Alumni Association award for demonstrating expertise in professional nursing practice and patient centered health care delivery.
In an attempt to practice her own recommendations for a balanced lifestyle, MaryLynn is an avid yoga enthusiast, and enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband and two children. She is also engaged in many volunteer efforts here in Montgomery County, including providing nutritious meals for the residents at the local men’s and women’s homeless shelters.
